· National and third party testing of academic and workplace skills · Provision for insurance to workers within Canada– group policy under CCS-Agency · Provides support, registry and discounted ongoing training to members from other countries immigrating into Canada under the Live-In Caregiver Program · Issues and dialogue on front line caregivers internationally is available at www.creative.on.ca · Advocating for individuals; increasing wages, setting standards · Training and Testing, Prior Learning Assessments · Enhancing support networks · Giving greater respect and recognition to the Front Line Worker; Certification and recognition of standards. · Increased efficiency when individuals strive to better their performance on the job. Benefits of Training and Standards for homes using CPSWs Reduces turnover; Homes that have the advantage of training tend to be better staffed and provide higher wages, benefits, stronger worker protections, and lateral movement within the employment of the front line worker. Increased productivity: Training staff to work more efficiently or effectively; can rapidly increase their productivity. Employees may be lacking a skill, which in turn may increase the time they take to complete a task. It may even stop them from undertaking it in the first place. Offering skills development will increase employee confidence and job satisfaction. Improved Quality of Service: Training your employees in all areas can increase the quality of service and job satisfaction for higher standards. This increases employees’ positive attitudes, eliminates improper attitudes, and training and provides rewards and recognition for the valuable worker. Membership The NACPSW is a PSW professional association representing PSWs in Ontario and Health Care Aides, Nursing Home Assistants, Personal Support Attendants throughout Canada and Internationally. It requires a strong voice to influence and promote education and workplace training as well as healthy community and institutional public policy. Membership Fees Non-membership fees for students that do not subscribe to a registered program of study using the NACPSW materials are $200.00 Exam and one year membership fee; $150 (this entitles the CPSW to online resume building and employment counselling services. NACPSW Book fees for six student manuals to study from are $350.00 Academic Program fees for students are $999.00 and Placement Fees are $999.00. RE-Registration membership for students of CPSW study is $75.00 annually, due in September, October and / or November. Fees are prorated other than these months.
For Agency, Trainers and Schools that wish to use the curriculum the cost is $1,000.00 for a one time purchase, and a $500.00 annual renewal fee for updates, test, and exam changes.
A special offer is available to registered Schools that are not in violation of Ministry Guidelines for Registration and would like to have their students access the Registry, Insurance Benefits, and discounted Continuing Education Units (CEUs) The one time one location fee is $500.00 and yearly renewal fees are waived for schools. Students are charged $200.00 with a reduction fee of $50.00 for books and training manuals.
Out-of- country exam and membership fees are $150.00 and yearly renewal fees are $25.00.
